ATHENS - History repeated itself for Stein Metzger and Dax Holdren.

It wasn't a good thing.

Norway's Iver Horrem and Bjorn Maaseide came back from a one-set deficit Tuesday to beat the USA's Metzger and Holdren, 14-21, 21-16, 16-14, at the Olympic Beach Volleyball Centre.

Metzger and Holdren are now 1-1 in pool play.

The match wasn't much different than the first meeting between the two teams two months ago in Brazil. Team USA won the first game and then fell in two consecutive games.

``We just blew it,'' said Metzger, a Honolulu native.

Next up are top-seeded Emanuel Rego and Ricardo Santos of Brazil on Thursday. Metzger-Holdren is 1-2 vs. the world's No. 1 team.

``There's nothing we're going to change for game three,'' Metzger said.

``We just have to convert and play a little bit better on the finish.''
